Children and Young People's Activities.

BAB takes children on day trips, activity days and to pantomimes and theatre shows during the school holidays. These can be days for the whole family or just targeted at a certain age group. With young people of secondary age we go out mainly without family members but with extra support from other volunteers of similar age.

Working in partnership with other organisations, we would like to encourage our children and young people to join in regular sporting activities such as football coaching, archery and climbing.

If you would like to join us please contact Penni Thorne, BAB Development Officer by email on pthorne@bucksblind.co.uk or phone 01296 487556

We have collected some bright ideas from visually impaired children.

Parents Group

BAB runs a support group for parents of visually impaired children. This group meets during term time and includes a simple lunch. There are times when it meets to share ideas and support each other and speakers are invited to some meetings. The Parent Partnership Officer has attended to speak and the Examinations Officer from the RNIB at Birmingham has visited to speak to parents on the adaptations that can be put into place for the different tests and exams that our children take during their school life.

We also have, on this site, some hints for helping your baby to see.
